1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files sent to your computer or mobile device when you visit websites. Cookies improve the performance and browsing experience of our Users, enabling us to store and retrieve information about your browsing habits in order to personalise your browsing experience according to your preferences. The cookies that BBA collects do not allow the User to be identified; they only store generic information, namely the form and/or location of access and how you use the Websites.
2. What types of cookies are there?
There are several types of cookies. Cookies can be classified according to the following characteristics:
2.1. According to their origin
- First-party cookies – cookies sent to the User’s device via equipment or domains managed by BBA.
- Third-party cookies – cookies sent to the user’s device via equipment or domains managed by a third party and are not under the control of BBA.
2.2. According to their duration
- Session cookies – temporary cookies that are deleted from the device when you close the browser or application you use to access the Websites.
- Persistent cookies – cookies stored for a longer period than session cookies. After closing the browser or application, they remain stored on the User’s device.
2.3. According to their purpose
- Strictly necessary cookies – necessary to ensure the functioning of the Websites and/or the availability of features requested by the User.
- Personalisation cookies – accessory cookies used to personalise the User’s browsing experience.
- Analytical cookies – allow the User’s behaviour to be tracked and analysed.
- Advertising cookies – accessory cookies intended to ensure that advertising displayed is more relevant and attractive to Users and advertisers.

3. What types of cookies are there on Websites and what are they used for?
| Type | Name | Domain | Purpose | Duration | First-party / Third-party |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|

| Analytics | _ga | .bluedemonetwork.pt | The _ga cookie, installed by Google Analytics, calculates visitor, session and campaign data and keeps track of site usage for the site’s analytics report. The cookie stores information anonymously and assigns a randomly generated number to recognize unique visitors. | 1 year 1 month 4 days | Third-party |
| Necessary | wpEmojiSettingsSupports | bluedemonetwork.pt | WordPress sets this cookie when a user interacts with emojis on a WordPress site. It helps determine if the user’s browser can display emojis properly. | Session | First-party |
4. Third-party cookies that transfer data to third countries
The use of certain third-party cookies on the Websites (i.e., personalisation, analytics and/or advertising cookies) may involve the transfer of your data to countries outside the European Economic Area (e.g., the United States of America), which may not have an adequacy decision from the European Commission and, consequently, may not offer a level of protection for your data that is essentially equivalent to that of the European Union.
For example, the use of Google Analytics cookies may involve the transfer of your personal data (i.e., a unique identifier for your device) to entities that provide these services and are based in the United States of America. In such cases, BBA may not have the ability or right to configure the operation of these cookies and/or prevent such transfer. If you wish to disable such cookies, you must exercise this option in your browser settings (see point 5. below for more information) and, if you need clarification, contact the third party identified above who is responsible for the cookie in question.
5. How to manage your preferences?
With the exception of strictly necessary cookies, which are placed on Users’ devices immediately upon their visit, the implementation of the remaining cookies depends on your consent. Objecting to the use of cookies may impair your browsing experience on the Websites.
Most browsers allow you to control the cookies stored on your device, as well as delete them immediately if you no longer wish to allow local storage of cookies. You can change your browser settings via the following links (non-exhaustive list):

Users should note that the flexibility and configuration capabilities of their browser’s cookies may be limited, not offering a level of detail that allows Users to detect and adequately remove only those cookies that are not strictly necessary to enable the use of the Websites. In particular, blocking cookies through the browser may negatively affect the functioning of the Websites. On devices that offer this type of functionality, you may have greater control over your cookies by using free extensions available online.
6. Changes to the Cookie Policy
BBA may, at any time, without prior notice and with immediate effect, change, add or revoke, in whole or in part, this Cookie Policy. Any changes relevant to the User will be immediately disclosed on the Websites, where you can access the information and, depending on the type of cookie in question, consent to its use and storage.
